This article contains definitions of various technical terms that we use around GKM.

Header Nav - This describes the navigation at the top of the page. It is the primary way to navigate around the site.

Header - The area at the top of the page. This usually contains the Header Nav, along with the logo and other miscellaneous content, and it is usually global (see below), but that doesn't mean it always is.

Footer - The area at the very bottom of the page. This usually contains miscellaneous content, and it is usually global (see below), but that doesn't mean it always is.

Global - In terms of content on a site, global means that it is on every page of a site. So Global Content is content that is on every page in the site.

Host - The host of a website is the server that the website is hosted on. For those who know what this is, it doesn't need further definition, and for those who don't know what it is, it would take a while to go into. The main thing that you need to know is that the host for a website is not necessarily the same host as another website, but it is not impossible for it to be.

Note: This page will be updated with more terms and definitions as the need arises. Check back often if you encounter a term you don't understand. If it is not on here, and you feel it should be, send us a ticket.
